The Improvised Shakespeare Company

Their plots tend to start like romances, focusing on seduction and romantic rivalry, and end like tragedies, with a mounting body count and a reflective speech.

Why see The Improvised Shakespeare Company?
and thence
All the excitement of improvisation is showcased through classic wit and think-on-your-feet comedy. Founded in 2005, the Chicago-based collective, The Improvised Shakespeare Company draws on the collected works of one William Shakespeare to create an impulsive and one-of-a-kind Shakespearean masterpiece every night that has never been seen before and will never be seen again!
The show uses audience suggestions as well as the actors' knowledge of 16th-century vocabulary and Shakespeare plays to put together a truly one-off show that could go anywhere.
Based in Chicago the group has been performing to much success since 2005 and has made it their ethos to never rehearse a show beforehand, instead feeding off of each other's and the audience's energy. The sparkling shows have been greeted by an overwhelming amount of good reviews from the press, praising the way that the collective continually brings something new to the stage.
